I am a Philosopher with a PhD in philosophy of medicine and ethics. I specialise in medical and humanitarian ethics especially cultural and religious aspects. Currently, I am a Tutor and lecturer in Ethics and Law at University College London Medical School. I also hold collaborations with the University of Helsinki, Finland and University of Fort Hare, South Africa. I am on the Steering Group Committee of a 28 country membership project on Disaster Medicine Bioethics funded by COST. I have published in the Journal of Medical Ethics, American Journal of Bioethics, and Bioethics. My other background area is Psychoanalysis and philosophy of psychiatry. I work on trauma related issues such as ethics of memory deletion, narrative, and cross-cultural aspects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. I am particularly interested in those affected by war, torture, and disasters.
