Rada Drezgić

Rada Drezgić is a Research Associate at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, University of Belgrade. She holds a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Pittsburgh, USA, where she also did research and taught courses in anthropology and area studies. She specializes in anthropology of gender and medical anthropology and is particularly interested in issues of sexuality and reproduction, population policies and abortion. She approaches these issues combining bio-political and bio-ethical perspectives. Her areas of specialization are Europe and the Balkans. She has published articles in domestic and international peer reviewed journals and book collections, and has a book titled “’The White Plague’ among the ‘Serbs’” (“Bela kuga” među “Srbima”, Beograd: Albatros plus, IFDT, 2010) – a book on population politics and abortion debates in Serbia at the turn of the century.
