The Working Group is sponsored by Cambridge University Press.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The Cambridge Working Group for Bioethics Education in Serbia was officially constituted at the Center for the Study of Bioethics. It has a Steering Board and a Secretariat. It is chaired by Vojin Raki\u0107.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The primary activities of the Working Group are to advance education and research on bioethics in Serbia. The WG meets to discuss its policies and plan its projects. The activities of the WG include the organization of lectures, ethics training courses for practitioners of the medical profession, the organization of courses for members of ethics committees and the public at large, the organization of conferences and workshops for the academic community, the development of bioethics projects, as well as research. It encourages the publication of this research, as well as materials that deal with bioethics education.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the Steering Board of the Working Group:<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2679\" src=\"https:\/\/csb.eu.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/besirevic.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"142\" height=\"142\" \/><br \/>\nVioleta Be\u0161irevi\u0107<\/strong>\u00a0holds an L.L.M. and an S.J.D. in Comparative Constitutional Law from the Central European University, Legal Studies Department. Currently, she is a Professor of Law at Union University Law School Belgrade and also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the European Public Law Organization and a Research Associate at the CEU Center for Ethics and Law in Biomedicine. Previously, she was a Vice Dean and Head of the Postgraduate Studies at the Union University Law School Belgrade, Senior Diplomat at the Embassy of Serbia in Hungary, Staff Attorney at the Constitutional and Legal Policy Institute in Budapest and Senior Legal Adviser at the Ministry of Justice of the former Yugoslavia.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Violeta Be\u0161irevi\u0107 authored the book\u00a0<em>Euthanasia: Legal Principles and Policy Choices<\/em>\u00a0(European Press Academic Publishing, 2006); book chapter (with J. Sandor et al.)\u00a0<em>Organ Trafficking, Organ Trade. Recommendations for a more Nuanced Legal Policy<\/em>,\u00a0 in:\u00a0<em>The EULOD Project: Living Organ Donation in Europe: Results and Recommendations<\/em>, Ambagtsheer, F., Weimar, W., eds (Pabst Science Publishers, 2013), pp. 147-174; and the paper\u00a0<em>End-of-Life Care in XXI Century: Advance Directives in Universal Rights Discourse,\u00a0<\/em>(2010), 24 Bioethics 3 (Oxford: Blackwell Publishing Ltd.), pp. 105-112, which is among the top five most read articles on\u00a0<em>Bioethics<\/em>\u00a0website since 2010.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2680\" src=\"https:\/\/csb.eu.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/vojinrakic3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"267\" height=\"200\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Vojin Raki\u0107<\/strong>, Research Professor, is Director of the Center for the Study of Bioethics, Head of the Serbian Unit of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics and Chair of Cambridge Working Group for Bioethics Education in Serbia. Raki\u0107 is also Head of the Central and Eastern European Network of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics. Raki\u0107 has a PhD in Political Science from Rutgers University in the United States (1998). He graduated philosophy in Serbia, and has MA degrees in European Studies from the Central European University in Prague and from the Department of Political Science of Rutgers University. He worked as a senior research fellow at the Center for Higher Education Policy Studies at the University of Twente in the Netherlands (1999-2001). Between 2001 and 2003 he was a U.N. Special Adviser to the Government of Serbia. Since 2003 he works as a university professor in Belgrade. Raki\u0107 publishes primarily in English. His publications include various books and edited collections (recently: an edited volume published by Routledge), as well as numerous articles from the domain of (bio-)ethics, and political philosophy (recent publications: articles in the Journal of Medical Ethics, American Journal of Bioethics, Cambridge Quarterly of Health Care Ethics and American Journal of Bioethics: Neuroscience).<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2681\" src=\"https:\/\/csb.eu.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/cirkovic.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"120\" height=\"137\" \/><br \/>\nMilan M. \u0106irkovi\u0107<\/strong>\u00a0is a research professor at the Astronomical Observatory of Belgrade, (Serbia), an associate professor at the Department of Physics of the University of Novi Sad (Serbia), and a research associate of the Future of Humanity Institute at the Oxford University (United Kingdom). He is member of the Belgrade based Center for the Study of Bioethics. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook (USA), M.S. in Earth and Space Sciences from the same university, and his B.Sc. in Theoretical Physics from the University of Belgrade. His primary research interests are in the fields of astrobiology (Galactic habitable zone, SETI studies, catastrophic episodes in the history of life), risk analysis (global catastrophes, observation selection effects, epistemology of risk), and philosophy of science (anthropic principles, philosophy of physics, future studies). He co-edited the anthology on\u00a0<em>Global Catastrophic Risks\u00a0<\/em>(Oxford University Press, 2008), which was reviewed favorably in the most distinguished research journals, including\u00a0<em>Science\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Nature<\/em>; wrote three monographs (the latest being<em>The Astrobiological Landscape<\/em>, Cambridge University Press, 2012); and authored about 200 research and professional papers, in addition to translating several books, including titles by Richard P. Feynman and Sir Roger Penrose.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2683\" src=\"https:\/\/csb.eu.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/Vladan-Cokic.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"130\" height=\"150\" \/><br \/>\nVladan\u00a0\u010coki\u0107<\/strong>\u00a0is an Associate Professor at the Institute\u00a0for\u00a0Medical Research,University\u00a0of\u00a0Belgrade.\u00a0Between 1999\u00a0and\u00a02004, he\u00a0was in\u00a0graduate\u00a0training\u00a0at the National Institutes\u00a0of Health (NIH,\u00a0NIDDK)\u00a0in\u00a0Bethesda,\u00a0United States,\u00a0which resulted in\u00a0his\u00a0Master&#8217;s degree\u00a0at the Medical\u00a0Faculty in\u00a0Belgrade.\u00a0He received his Ph.D.\u00a0also\u00a0at the Medical Faculty\u00a0in\u00a0Belgrade\u00a0as part of\u00a0transnational\u00a0research collaboration\u00a0with the Division of Cellular and Gene Therapies, US\u00a0Food and Drug Administration\u00a0in\u00a0Bethesda.\u00a0He specialized in\u00a0internal medicine\u00a0at the Medical\u00a0Faculty in\u00a0Belgrade.\u00a0Dr\u00a0Vladan\u00a0\u010coki\u0107\u00a0was a\u00a0participant in\u00a0an international\u00a0European project of the\u00a0VI\u00a0Framework Programme\u00a0FP6\u00a0(2006-2009): \u201cHealth\u00a0improvement\u00a0in\u00a0Serbia\u00a0through\u00a0reinforcement\u00a0of\u00a0biomedical\u00a0science\u00a0and technology\u201d. He is the principal investigator\u00a0in a research project\u00a0funded by the Serbian Ministry\u00a0of Education, Science\u00a0and\u00a0Technological Development\u00a0in the project cycle\u00a02011-2015.\u00a0Dr\u00a0Vladan\u00a0\u010coki\u0107\u00a0is\u00a0also\u00a0an associate\u00a0in the bilateral\u00a0SCOPES\u00a0project\u00a0between Serbia and\u00a0Switzerland\u00a0(2014-2016):\u00a0\u201cDetermination\u00a0of\u00a0themutational\u00a0landscape\u00a0and\u00a0clonal\u00a0architecture\u00a0and\u00a0its\u00a0application\u00a0in\u00a0angiogenesis and\u00a0thrombosis\u00a0of\u00a0MPN\u00a0patients\u201d.\u00a0He is\u00a0the President\u00a0of the Ethics Committee\u00a0of the Institute\u00a0for\u00a0Medical Research\u00a0from\u00a02012.\u00a0He is a\u00a0member of the\u00a0European Hematology Association since 2009.\u00a0His articles\u00a0of\u00a0international importance\u00a0have been cited\u00a0over 500\u00a0times\u00a0in leading\u00a0international journals.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2684\" src=\"https:\/\/csb.eu.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/Valentina-D.-Marinkovic.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"136\" height=\"166\" \/><br \/>\nValentina D. Marinkovic<\/strong>\u00a0has a BSc, MSc and PhD from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade &#8211; field of pharmaceutical chemistry. She specialized in the testing and control of drugs in 1993. Valentina Marinkovic&#8217;s professional career is built in two directions &#8211; academic and practical work. She acquired the title of Associate Professor at Faculty of Technology in Leskovac, University of Nis, and she established her practical experience in the pharmaceutical and chemical industry,\u00a0<em>Zdravlje- Leskovac<\/em>. In\u00a0<em>Zdravlje- Actavis<\/em>\u00a0she had leadership positions for more than 17 years.<br \/>\nShe has more than 120 publications in scientific and professional literature. Valentina Marinkovi\u0107 was head of the several courses of continuing education of pharmacists and is member of the European and international associations for quality.<br \/>\nShe is Vice \u2013 President of the Untied Association for Quality in Serbia (JUSK) since 2009. Her current\u00a0 position is Regional Director for Quality for the Western Balkans in the multinational pharmaceutical company ALVOGEN. She is also Assistant Professor of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade, Department of Social Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Legislation.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2685\" src=\"https:\/\/csb.eu.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/pantovic.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"121\" height=\"139\" \/><br \/>\nMaja Pantovic<\/strong>\u00a0was born in 1983 in Kragujevac, where she graduated in 2008 as the best ranked student in her generation at the School of Medicine, University of Kragujevac, She performed undergraduate clinical education as a fellow of the University of Udine at\u00a0<em>Facolta di Medicina e Chirurgia<\/em>. During this time she represented\u00a0<em>Facolta di Medicina e Chirurgia<\/em>\u00a0at the International School of Bioethics, Medical faculty, Charles\u2019 University.<br \/>\nShe has been working at the Clinic of Psychiatry, Clinical Center of Serbia since 2008. Her main clinical and research engagement is directed towards neuroimmunology and the possible role of cytokines and adhesion molecules in ethiopathogenesis of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. She is a member of the Research Group of the European Federation of Psychiatric Trainees and a member of the Task Force on Research of the European Psychiatric Association &#8211; Early Career Psychiatrists\u2019 Committee (EPA-ECPC). She authored and co-authored 44 scientific publications. In 2012 she received an EPA Early Career Psychiatrists Scholarship Programme grant for one of five most promising European Young Psychiatrists in that year.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2686\" src=\"https:\/\/csb.eu.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jarsic.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"147\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jasmina Arsi\u0107<\/strong>\u00a0is the Secretary of Cambridge Working Group for Bioethics Education in Serbia. She completed her undergraduate studies in pharmacy, specialist academic studies in Pharmaceutical marketing and management programme, and specaialist healthcare studies in Social Pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade. She is currently attending a PhD program in the field of History and Philosophy of Natural Sciences and Technology at the University of Belgrade. Since 2015 she has been working as a lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University Business Academy of Novi Sad.<\/p>\n<p>Her topics of interest in research work are: social pharmacy and behavioral aspects of pharmaceutical practice, applied pharmaceutical ethics, development of ethical and other competences for pharmaceutical practice, multidisciplinary study of history and philosophy of science and technology, history of pharmacy.
