{"id":1926,"date":"2018-11-28T09:59:41","date_gmt":"2018-11-28T09:59:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/csb.eu.com\/en\/?p=1926"},"modified":"2018-12-07T12:41:24","modified_gmt":"2018-12-07T12:41:24","slug":"csb-hastings-conference-held-in-belgrade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csb.eu.com\/en\/news\/csb-hastings-conference-held-in-belgrade\/","title":{"rendered":"CSB\/HASTINGS CONFERENCE HELD IN BELGRADE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The international conference\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Enhancing Understanding of Enhancement&#8221;<\/strong>, organized by the\u00a0<strong>Center for the Study of Bioethics<\/strong>\u00a0in collaboration with\u00a0<strong>The Hastings Center<\/strong>, took place in Belgrade on October 27-28.<span lang=\"en-us\">2015.<\/span>Among the participants, who came from\u00a0<strong>24 countries representing all five continents<\/strong>, were some of the most prominent contemporary bioethicists:\u00a0<strong>John Harris (keynote speaker), Erik Parens (keynote speaker), Anders Sandberg, Michael Hauskeller, Robert Sparrow, Maartje Schermer, Ineke Bolt and many others.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the event&#8217;s opening ceremony, the participants were first greeted by\u00a0<strong>Vojin Raki\u0107<\/strong>, Director of the Center for the Study of Bioethics and Research Professor at the Institute for Social Sciences. Afterwards the participants were addressed by \u00a0<strong>Mildred Solomon<\/strong>, President of The Hastings Center, and\u00a0<strong>Sr\u0111an Verbi\u0107<\/strong>, Minister of Science, Education and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia.
