On\u00a020-21 August\u00a0of 2017 the\u00a0Center for the Study of Bioethics, the\u00a0Division of Medical Ethics in NYU School of Medicine\u00b4s Department of Population Health\u00a0and\u00a0The Hastings Center\u00a0jointly organized the international conference\u00a0\u201cGenome editing: biomedical and ethical perspectives\u201d. The lecturers were the\u00a0world\u2019s leading experts in bioethics. The keynote speech was delivered by Professor\u00a0Arthur Caplan. Professor\u00a0Vojin\u00a0Raki\u0107,\u00a0Director of the\u00a0Center for the Study of Bioethics,\u00a0opened the conference. \u00a0Ana\u00a0Brnabi\u0107, Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, welcomed the participants, noting\u00a0that she is proud that the\u00a0Center for the Study of Bioethics\u00a0hosts events that gather the world\u2019s leading experts and scientists.<\/p>\n

The conference titled\u00a0”Emerging Technologies in Healthcare”\u00a0was organized by the\u00a0Center for the Study of Bioethics\u00a0in partnership with the\u00a0European Society for Philosophy of Medicine and Healthcare\u00a0(ESPMH). There were over 100 attendees, mostly philosophers, physicians and lawyers. The opening speech was held by Professor\u00a0Vojin Raki\u0107, Director of the Center for the Study of Bioethics, and Professor\u00a0Christoph Rehmann-Sutter, President of the European Society for the\u00a0Philosophy of Medicine and Healthcare. Their speeches were followed by a keynote lecture of Professor\u00a0Nicholas Agar, University of Wellington. The conference panels\u00a0were held from\u00a016th\u00a0to 19th\u00a0\u00a0August 2017,\u00a0<\/span>simultaneously\u00a0in\u00a0seven\u00a0different halls.<\/p>\n
