Dušica Kovačević completed her basic academic studies at the Faculty of Security Studies in Belgrade in 2017 with the distinction of being the best student in her generation. The following year, she defended her master’s thesis entitled – Legal Regulation of Cryptocurrencies from the Aspect of National Security at the Faculty of Law of the University of Novi Sad.
During her studies, she was the President of the Student Parliament of the Faculty of Security (SPFB), a member of the Center for National Security Management in Belgrade, as well as a member of the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Security Studies. She delivered papers at various international conferences: the Youth Forum for Euro-Asian Security, organized by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO); the international scientific meeting of special importance Transformative Technologies: Legal and Ethical Challenges of the 21st Century, organized by the Center for the Study of Bioethics and the UNESCO Chair of Bioethics (European Division); the international conference Enhancement: Cognitive, Moral and Mood; Part II, organized by the Center for the Study of Bioethics and the Wellcome Centre for Ethics and Humanities of Oxford University.
She was a scholarship recipient of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia, as well as of the Fund for Young Talents. She was awarded the Charter of the University of Belgrade for her exceptional contribution and success during her studies.
She is a doctoral student at the Faculty of Law in Novi Sad. Her doctoral thesis deals with euthanasia. Apart from euthanasia, she does research on other bioethical themes as well.
She is employed at the Institute of Social Sciences in Belgrade, Center for Philosophy.
